Does anybody actually like this beer, or do people drink it because they think they should?

I can't stand it. Would rather have Coors (though not Coors Light).

Not really fond of Hindlicken. Unless she's cute.

I think it's okay. Not amazing.

I feel the way you do about Becks. Terrible, terrible stuff.

I don't mind drinking it, but I usually go for something that's either cheaper or taste a bi better. I guess I just buy it for variation.

I like it, but if I want a lighter, refreshing European lager, I'd rather have a Stella.

Never been a big fan. I mostly stick with Newcastle, Murhpy's, Leffe Brune, Ayinger Dunkel and New Belgium 1554.

Let's put it this way; you'll never catch me buying Heineken, but I won't refuse to drink it someone gave me one. But truth be told I think it's a bloody boring beer, it's just so bland, might as well drink corona or perhaps water.

Eh...I don't bother with it. If i am out somewhere and they don't have good beer I just don't drink.

I like it. From the cheap beers it's one of the best. I like its taste.

I live in one of the best beer cities in the United States, so I have no reason to drink boring beer.

It's not bad, but not great compared to other imports.

I've found, though, that most people who hate it (and similar import lagers) and complain that it tastes "skunky" are drinking it straight out of the bottle. Average North American beers like Bud, Coors Light, and Canadian are pretty mild tasting, and don't taste much different in a glass than they do from the can or bottle.

Imports and microbrews really should be served from a proper glass. Different varieties even have different types of glasses, and yes, it makes a difference.

In North America I've found that's it's good on tap, but not as good if bought in cans or bottles. If it's on tap, I'll likely have a pint, depending on what else in on tap, otherwise, I probably won't buy it.

Agreed. One of my favorites is Bitburger, which we can get in a .5L can. It must be poured, and it must be poured into a glass that is big enough to hold the entire can.

Being from Holland I can tell you that it's not that popular here either. It's one of the few big brands, similar to Budwiser and Coors. People drink it because their pub serves it or because their dad drank it, etc.

tl;dr: I think it's boring and if given the choice drink something else.

Yes.

However, I refer to it as my lawn mowin' beer as in it really only tastes good as a refreshing drink after cutting the grass on a muggy summer eve. It can easily be swapped with Becks, Bud, Miller, etc... depending on what's on sale.

As much as I love IPAs, APAs, pale ales, etc... I cannot drink them in the heat.

I don't think I've ever tried Bitburger. Come to think of it, I haven't had a Warsteiner or any other German beer in ages, either. If I'm going for an import lager, I usually go for Pilsner Urquell (Czech) or Steinlager (NZ).

Can you explain this whole PBR resurgence thing to me? A bartender in Minnesota talked me into having one, saying something about "They've got a new brewmaster now" or some crap. It was the most rancid, vile beer I've had the displeasure of drinking.

From the looks of the PBR crowd, it looks to be the new, but old hipster douchenozzle pisswater special or something. Fucking horrific beer. Ugh.

Well, my shit beer tastes are varied. I am actually partial to Narragansett, High Life, Busch, maybe even a Keystone Light. I also like craft beers in the winter. PBR used to be ironic because of those hipster dbags, now it is played out. I just never stopped drinking it when it was uncool. It tastes great after a day of mowing the lawn in the hot sun. Tastes better than a Heineken any day too
